After school activities
Unfortunately, we had to cancel several after-school clubs due to low interest.
However, there is another offering on the list starting from next week. After great success at the International day with Georgian country booth, Mr. Valerian is now offering a Georgian culture club. The club takes place on Tuesdays from 15:30 to 16:15. It includes Georgian culture, language, food, and traditions. Sign up is open.
Please find the updated after-school activities list here.
International Mother Language Day
The idea to celebrate International Mother Language Day was the initiative of Bangladesh. It was approved at the 1999 UNESCO General Conference and has been observed throughout the world since 2000. In Bangladesh, the 21 February is the anniversary of the day when Bangladeshis fought for recognition for the Bangla language.
International Mother Language Day has been observed every year since February 2000 to promote linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism.
Languages are the most powerful instruments of preserving and developing our tangible and intangible heritage.
We are celebrating International Mother Language Day on Thursday, February 21st with Mother language reading.
Parents from various nationalities will read a book of their choice. Parents read a story to PYP students in their mother language and explain it in English. If the parents read in English, they can have a little discussion with the kids. The readings will take place from 9:00 to 9:20 in the morning.
If you would like to read please let your homeroom teacher know or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org

Managebac training for parents
After the winter break, Ms Kadri will be offering a Managebac training session for interested parents. You may wish to learn more about how as a parent you can be more involved with your child’s learning. This session will be good for new parents and also those wanting to learn more about the student management system.
It will happen on Thursday the 7th of March at 5pm.
The upper school student council would like to start a new tradition: Spirit Wednesdays! Every month, student council will come up with four themes for all of the Wednesdays of the month (e.g. funny sock day, pajama day, favorite character day, etc.). This is a simple way to lift the spirit and have some fun in the middle of the week. All students are encouraged to take part in the activity, however, no one is obliged to participate.
The February schedule:
February 20- Estonian color day
*There will be a pajama day every month
